Character varieties arise from Physics as moduli spaces of solutions of Yang-Mills equations. This motivates extensive studies on them.In this talk, we compute the Euler polynomial of a family of symplectic character varieties via arithmetic methods, namely, counting points over finite fields, obtaining relevant topological information.
